Why councils use us

A fixed price for every address, without a site visit

We price each block from its land title outline on Vicmap, the state's land map. Type any address on a notice into the box at the top of this page: the price comes back in about 30 seconds, with a PDF for your file.

Proof for every property

Timestamped before-and-after photos, the tasks ticked off on the day, and the conditions we found (for example wet grass, or rain stopped work). Ready to attach to your file if an owner questions the charge.

Invoices that match your records

One invoice per address, with the property address and your notice, PO or reference number on it, so the cost can be passed on to the owner without re-typing anything.

Straight answers on capacity

We're owner-operated. If we can't meet your due date, we tell you when you send the work order, not after.

What we do, and what we don't

We do

  • Mow and edge front lawns on suburban blocks
  • Nature strips, including the side strip on corner blocks
  • Long and overgrown grass on suburban blocks
  • Clear clippings off footpaths, kerbs and driveways
  • Clippings into the bin, or taken away
  • Back yards when access has been arranged

Not part of our service

  • Acreage, slashing or ride-on mowing
  • Tree or shrub removal
  • Rubbish or dumped-waste removal
  • Spraying or chemical weed control

If a notice covers any of these, we'll say so when we price it.

How a work order works

  1. Send the addressesUse the form below, or email councils@cuts4.cash with the list, your notice or reference numbers and the due date.
  2. A fixed price per addressWe check each block and reply with a fixed price for each address before any work starts. Send your purchase order to go ahead.
  3. Done by your due dateWe do the work and send before-and-after photos for each address. If we can't meet a date, we say so up front.
  4. One invoice per addressWith the address and your reference on it, ready to recover from the owner.

At each address

Clean-ups for a council need care: an occupier who didn't act on a notice may be home, unhappy, or not there at all. This is how we handle every address.

  1. Your work order is our authority. We only go onto land listed on your work order, and carry it with photo ID on every visit. Nothing is done beyond what the order covers.
  2. Before we start: your call.Go ahead because the notice has been served, leave a notice card first and come back after the days you set, or you tell the occupier yourselves. You choose on each work order.
  3. We knock first. If someone's home, we say we're your contractor and show the work order. If they say they'll do it themselves or ask us not to start, we don't argue: we photograph the site, leave, and tell you the same day.
  4. No forced entry, ever.We never cut a lock, climb a fence or go into a building. A locked gate, a loose dog or a hazard is photographed, logged and reported to you that day, and we do what can safely be reached if your order allows.
  5. Every attendance logged. The date and time, what happened and photos go on the job record you can see. A visit that can't go ahead is charged only if you agreed an attendance fee on the work order.
  6. Finished properly. Before and after photos with the date and time, a works-completed card in the letterbox telling the occupier the work was done for the council and to contact you with questions, and one invoice per address with your reference on it.

Kept private. Council work never appears on our public pages, and we don't discuss notices with neighbours.

Pressure washing at the properties you send us

Footpaths, driveways and paved areas at the properties you send us, with before and after photos and your reference on the invoice. Added to a notice clean-up there's no minimum; on its own it's $115 at least.

  • Single driveway $115Up to about 35 m², from the garage to the kerb, crossover included.
  • Double driveway $175About 35 to 65 m², from the garage to the kerb, crossover included.
  • Long or extra-wide driveway $235About 65 to 100 m², garage to kerb.
  • Paths and porch $59Front path, side path and porch, up to about 15 m².
  • Patio, alfresco or courtyard $95Concrete, pavers or tiles, up to about 25 m².

Bigger than these? $3.00 a square metre, priced from the satellite photo before we start.

  • Ground level only: driveways, paths, porches, patios and courtyards. No roofs, gutters, walls or anything that needs a ladder.
  • Water only, no chemicals, so nothing harmful goes on your garden or down the drain. Oil, rust, paint and tyre marks usually fade but may not come out completely.
  • The wash water stays out of the street drain: we cover the stormwater pit, sweep up the grime, and send the water onto your lawn or garden.

Questions councils ask

Can you meet our due date?

Tell us the due date with the work order. We confirm whether we can meet it before you send a purchase order, so nothing is promised that we can't deliver.

Do you contact the owner or occupier?

Only the way you choose on the work order: no further contact because the notice has been served, a notice card first and back after the days you set, or you tell them yourselves. We always knock before starting, and leave a works-completed card afterwards. We only go through a gate when you've arranged access.

What if someone is home, or there's a dog?

If someone's home, we explain we're your contractor and show the work order; if they ask us not to start, we leave. If there's a loose dog, we don't go in. Either way we photograph what we can see, log the visit, tell you the same day and agree the next step with you.

How do you price long grass?

From the block size and how long the grass is. Grass over about 30 cm, or a block we can't get into, is priced after a look so the price is right before we start.

Can you do parks and reserves?

Small reserves and strips that can be done with a walk-behind mower, yes. Large reserves that need slashing or a ride-on aren't part of our service.

Will you register on our supplier portal or panel?

Yes. Choose "Add us to your supplier list" in the form below and tell us which portal you use.

Which areas do you cover?

The City of Melton: postcodes 3337 and 3338, and Thornhill Park in 3335. Ask us about nearby areas.
